Speaker Bio
Dr. Gisela Ruiz holds a degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and a Cum Laude PhD in Electrical and Telecommunications Engineering from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), specializing in electrochemical magnetoimmunosensors and Point-of-Care (POC) diagnostics. As a Postdoctoral Researcher at ICN2, she played a key role in developing a portable nanophotonic biosensor for rapid SARS-CoV-2 detection. She brings extensive expertise in medical equipment compliance and POC device development.
Since 2022, she has been the CTO of Time is Brain, leading the development of BraiN20®, a device that provides real-time, bedside assessments for acute ischemic stroke, improving diagnosis and clinical outcomes. Her work bridges scientific innovation and practical healthcare solutions, with a dedicated focus on improving neurovascular care.
